OFFICIAL INCIDENT REPORT
Case Number: 2025-OSHC-3V1
Reporting Officer: Toby 'Vigilante' Jordan
Location: Old Southendians HC Grounds
Date/Time: Match Day, approx. 10:30 hours
Incident Type: Competitive Field Hockey Contest
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT
At the above date and time, two organised units — Old Southendians and Witham — assembled on the field for a sanctioned hockey engagement. Weather conditions were suitable for high-performance activity, and motivation levels were observed to be “above average.”
Old Southendians demonstrated consistent control of possession, displaying what witnesses later described as “some average hockey.”
FIRST-HALF OBSERVATIONS
Early exchanges were fast but orderly, with Old Southendians establishing offensive pressure.
At approximately 10:47 hours, Rhys executed a controlled strike resulting in Goal #1 for Old Southendians. Celebrations were conducted without breach of conduct.
Witham responded with counterattacking attempts; however, Old Southendians’ defensive unit maintained structural integrity.
SECOND-HALF OBSERVATIONS
The tempo escalated shortly after restart.
At roughly 11:12 hours, Summers obtained possession in an advantageous zone and delivered a direct and lawful finish, resulting in Goal #2.
Witham secured a goal at approx. 11:21 hours. No misconduct detected; morale dip for Old Southendians recorded but resolved quickly.
At approximately 11:29 hours, Connor completed a decisive attacking maneuver, restoring a two-goal lead and securing the final scoreline of 3–1.
DISCIPLINARY INCIDENT: JAMES’ CARDING
At approximately 11:34 hours, James was involved in an incident classified as an “ill-advised and structurally questionable tackle.”
Initial on-field assessment suggested force and technique consistent with a pink-card offence.
Following immediate consultation between the umpiring authorities, mitigating factors were identified (including angle of approach, lack of malicious intent, and possibly shock on James’s own face).
The offence was downgraded to a green card, officially logged as “Warning Issued – Tackle Quality: Unacceptable.”
NOTABLE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES
Man of the Match:
Asa, making his second-team debut, displayed outstanding situational awareness, defensive composure, and overall performance well above expected rookie levels. Multiple witnesses described him as “everywhere at once.”
No further investigation required.
Jacket of Shame:
Phil was issued an informal citation after an undercut hit from close range travelled toward a Witham youngster. No injuries were sustained, but the incident has been logged under “Questionable Decision-Making – Level 2.” Phil’s teammates delivered immediate on-field verbal corrective action.
FINAL OUTCOME
Old Southendians secured a 3–1 victory, demonstrating control, teamwork, and high-quality hockey throughout the fixture.
All players dispersed peacefully.
No permanent damage reported except minor embarrassment for Phil
