We'd been thinking for a couple of weeks that we were due a convincing victory and sure enough this week it arrived, with Waltham Forest the unlucky victims.
The return of Giles to the backline brought his usual commanding presence, much to Fessey-0's chagrin, with rumours of the Club's best finisher from two inches suffering a post match earache.
With Steve Smith flying back from Canada for the game desperate to get off the mark, and Paul Stoner finding room for us inbetween luxuriating in his French chateau, we were well placed to deliver a solid performance.
Despite them starting just below us in the league table, it was fairly clear from the off that there was only going to be one result.
It took 15 mins for us to get our first, a trademark lob of the keeper by Clarky, but further goals soon followed from Tim and Steve to give a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.
The second half saw the oppo pushing a little harder but rarely posing a threat, and with Tim poaching a 4th goal any notion of a comeback was quashed.
Other chances for OS came and went, and momentary loss of concentration allowed Forest to score a consolation goal, before the rout was rounded off with a Clarky cover drive after good build up play.
MoM again went to our newest and brightest star, Austin.
His excellent work on the right caused WF problems throughout the game, and I expect he will torment many other teams similarly throughout the season. Well done.
