Despite another defeat there were plenty of positives to take from the game and certainly in terms of balance of play sides were pretty evenly matched. Chelmsford's opening goal was hotly debated from the fanbase on the balcony although we should concede their other goals were well worked and gave our goalkeeper little chance. However, I am pleased to say that we can report a goal for our side, which doesn't happen often! Some nice play down our right hand side resulted in a well placed cross (and I'm sorry I forgot who played it) but Jack Thompson had run in to the perfect position just off the back post to score. That gave us renewed encouragement and we played some good passing hockey and, regardless of the result, we are getting stronger as a side each week and becoming more competitive. Man of the match was a tough decision, the voting so close that it was tied between Jack and Lucas, well done. The only downside was a season threatening injury to Tommo; it took 12 games to persuade him to play and he made a "huge" difference (pun intended, offence not intended!). We wish him well and hope he can return later this season.
