Old Southendian Hockey Club secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Chelmsford HC in an away encounter, with standout performances from multiple players.

The match began with early dominance from Southendian, who took the lead from a well-executed short corner that saw Emily Robo make a cracking strike which took a deflection off a defenders stick going in the top corner, giving the visitors a deserved 1-0 lead. The team maintained their control through the first half, with solid defensive work ensuring Chelmsford had few opportunities to threaten the goal.

Chelmsford came out with renewed energy after the break and equalized quickly in the second half, leveling the score at 1-1. However, Southendian quickly regained their lead when Beccy Withams fired a powerful shot on goal, with Armi providing a crucial touch to ensure it crossed the line. With the match nearing its conclusion, Beccy put the result beyond doubt with a stunning strike, securing a well-deserved 3-1 lead.

A special mention must go to Izzy, our POM, who filled in as goalkeeper and produced a sensational performance, making crucial saves throughout the match and proving herself more than capable as a stand in keeper.
