Finally the new season is upon and even more importantly a new league for the ladies 2’s after our promotion! Ready for action at the new early start time of 10am the girls quickly went 1-0 when Grace scored a brilliant goal.

They brought it to 1-1 after a short corner, which was very lucky. Then after a short corner and a great goal from Chloe, we went 2-1 up. They went 2-2 after a flurry in the D. They had so many shorts in the final minutes but the girls held them at bay.

Martha did an amazing job for running through their entire team!

Jemima missed out on MOM by one vote after an amazing performance in defence and midfield!

We got a last min short corner and did our best to get everyone around the D but they did well at keeping us off.

Rianna won Jacket by taking a leaf out of Anna’s book and mix it up a bit by having 2 right backs and no left back for the first couple mins of the second half.

Sandy B did a great job and made some cracking saves including a brilliant glove save after a shot deflected off Rianna. She was close to getting mom but humbly bailed out of the fight leaving it to the youngsters to battle it out.

Their umpire took some disliking to some of our players in particular Beccy. She even felt she needed to comment on the pace Beccy was moving with a comment “you don’t have to walk that slow” - not a change in this league for an umpire to have disagreements with Beccy ?

A point and a great battle to start the season and looking forward to the rest of the season girls!
