Old Southendian Ladies Threes 5 - 0 Southend Twos
Goals: Emily P, Shireen x2, Emily Mc, Chloe
PoM: Zarah
What do you call a Team that takes to the pitch, sets the tempo, controls the rhythm and performs a five-goal symphony?
Answer: The Ladies Threes 03/10/2026
The pre-match team talk was simple: we were to be the conductors, setting the tempo, controlling the game and making the opposition dance to our tune.
And what followed was a rather beautiful symphony.
We started brightly and our first movement came from a penalty corner, with Emily P sweeping the ball in from left slip.
The second followed from another penalty corner, with Shireen producing a spectacular finish at the right post. The rhythm was building nicely and, just before half time, Shireen and Zarah combined beautifully, with Shireen getting the final touch to make it 3-0 at the break.
The second half continued in much the same key. The Team moved the ball with confidence, created opportunities and kept the pressure on. Emily Mc added our fourth with a clean penalty corner strike straight into the net.
And then came the finale. Chloe picked up the ball and danced her way across the D before slotting it back to the left post. A brilliant individual goal and the perfect final note to round off the afternoon.
Five goals, no goals conceded and a performance in which everyone played their part. The passing was crisp, the tempo was ours and the attacking play was full of confidence.
The opposition may have arrived expecting to play the music, but today the Threes were firmly holding the baton.
A five-star performance, a clean sheet and quite possibly our best symphony yet.
Can’t wait for next week.
